Tadalafil

Tadalafil is an oral medication used for the treatment of Impotence (also known as Erectile Dysfunction) and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH or enlarged prostate) in men. It falls under the class of medications known as PDE 5 inhibitors. It stops the action of enzyme PDE 5 and helps the blood flow easily to the penis. An erection occurs when the penis gets filled with blood. When a person is sexually stimulated, nitric oxide is released into the penis. Nitric Oxide is responsible for the production of cGMP that controls the dilation and contraction of blood vessels. cGMP is destroyed by the action of the enzyme PDE 5. Tadalafil prevents PDE 5 from destroying cGMP and allows blood flow properly to the penis. This creates a pressure in the penis that leads to an erection. The relaxation of muscles of the bladder and prostate makes the passage of urine less difficult, thus, easing the symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). This helps to reduce the pressure in the muscle that controls the flow of urine from the bladder. For a person suffering from ED, a single tablet of Tadalafil is recommended to be taken once in 24 hours. You should not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. This medicine can be taken with or without food as food doesn’t slow the onset of this medication. For best results, take the medicine 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual intercourse.

It comes in doses such as 5 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg, etc. Generic versions of this drug include Vidalista, Tadacip, Tadalis, Tadaga, etc. The effects of this drug are known to last for a period of 36 hours. It is, therefore, known as the Weekend Pill. Take the dose as advised by your doctor and avoid consuming an overdose.
