How Artvigil 150mg Works

Artvigil 150mg improves wakefulness and alertness. The active ingredient in these tablets is armodafinil. It’s a cognitive enhancer and a wakefulness-promoting agent. It prevents the reuptake of substances like dopamine and norepinephrine. They can enhance your alertness and ability to concentrate.

Artvigil Dosage

• Doctors usually advise one armodafinil tablet in 24 hours. Take the pills as per a doctor’s advice to avoid side effects. The dosage depends on the condition you have and how severe it is. 
• For narcolepsy, patients take one tablet during the day.
• For shift work disorder, people take a tablet one to two hours before the shift starts. This ensures that peak levels of the medication are reached when the work starts. 
• The impact of this medication lasts for 10-14 hours. The duration depends on the patient’s age, health conditions, lifestyle etc. You should consult a doctor before using these tablets.

Missed Dose

In case you miss a dose, take one as soon as you remember. If you don’t need to stay awake for the next couple of hours, skip the missed dose. Follow the usual course the next day. 

Do not take two tablets to compensate for the missed dosage, as it may result in serious side effects.

Overdose

Overdosing may result in serious health problems, e.g., breathing difficulties, fluctuations in heart rate, etc. This may be fatal. In case of such accidents, seek immediate medical care.

Alcohol : UNSAFE
It is unsafe to drink alcohol with Vilitra 60mg (vardenafil) Tablets.

Pregnancy : POSSIBLY UNSAFE
This medicine is not approved for use in women. It’s for male sexual health problems (impotence or ED). So, it is unlikely to be used during pregnancy.

Breastfeeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Sufficient information is not available about the use of Vilitra 60mg during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor.

Driving : UNSAFE
This drug can make you dizzy or affect your vision. Do not drive or use hazardous machinery until you are fully aware of its effects on you.

Kidney : CAUTION
Use caution if you have severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine. 

Liver:  CAUTION
This medication will be processed by your liver, so use caution if you have an existing liver problem. Consult your doctor for further advice. Your doctor will probably adjust the dosage for you. 

Other Precautions

Before taking the armodafinil tablet Artvigil 150 mg, tell your doctor if:

• You have allergies to armodafinil or modafinil. Or if you have any allergies in general.
• You have a medical history of any heart conditions, e.g., irregular heartbeat, heart attack, chest pain, enlarged heart, etc.
• You suffer from hypertension.
• You have any conditions related to the liver.
• You suffer from mental health conditions such as depression, psychosis, and mania.
• You have a history of substance use, whether personal or family.
• You need to operate heavy machinery or drive.
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding 
• You drink or smoke sometimes
• You are on birth control medication

Artvigil Side Effects

Common side effects may include: 

• Headache
• Difficulty sleeping
• Nausea
• Dry mouth
• Dizziness 
• Uneasiness
• Anxiety
• Weariness

In some rare cases, the patients may experience more serious side effects, e.g., depression, suicidal thoughts, uneven heartbeat, chest pain, and allergic reactions.

Artvigil Interactions With Other Drugs

Armodafinil can interact with many drugs, such as

• Citalopram
• Esketamine
• Ritonavir/Ombitasvir/Paritaprevir
• Fentanyl
• Hydrocodone
• St. John’s Wort
• Warfarin
• Levomethadyl Acetate

This is not an exhaustive list. There are a total of 400+ medications that are known to interact with the drug. So, let your doctor know all medications you are taking at a given time. 

Interaction with Alcohol

Do not consume alcohol with armodafinil tablets. 

Interaction with Caffeine

Coffee, chocolate, and caffeine products can raise the risk of side effects. 

Storage Instructions 

• Store the Artvigil tablets in their original packaging.
• Keep the medication at ambient temperature, away from moisture and light.
• Keep the tablets away from children and pets.
• Put the opened pack in an airtight container to protect it from moisture.
• Do not consume past the expiry date.
• Do not flush or drain the expired tablets. Properly discard them with help from local waste disposal firms.
