How It Works

Viagra 150 mg contains the ingredient Sildenafil Citrate which relaxes the muscles present in the walls of the blood vessels. It works by increasing blood circulation to specific areas of the body, including the penis. When a person is sexually stimulated, Nitric Oxide is released into the penis. Nitric Oxide is responsible for the production of cGMP that controls the dilation and contraction of blood vessels. An enzyme known as PDE 5 destroys cGMP. Viagra 150 mg blocks the action of PDE 5 and allows cGMP to be produced properly. This allows the blood to flow easily to the penis. As more and more blood flows to the penis, pressure is created. Thus, an erection is achieved.

Uses

Viagra 150 mg is prescribed for the treatment of the following problems:

1. Erectile Dysfunction (ED) – a condition that causes an inability to achieve or sustain an erection making it difficult to have sexual intercourse.
2. Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) – high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs and the heart.

Dosage

A single tablet of Viagra 150mg is recommended to be taken orally once per day. It can be taken with or without food. It should be taken approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour before any sexual activity. The effects of the medicine last for around 4 to 5 hours.

Missed Dosage: This medicine is consumed as and when required. Therefore, the chances of missing a dose are very less. If you are taking this medicine for the treatment of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH), you should take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it’s time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take an overdose or a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

10. Medications for seizures such as carbamazepine and phenytoin
