How does Suhagra 100 mg work?

Suhagra 100 mg contains the active ingredient sildenafil, which is a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor. This medication works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, leading to an erection.

Due to the action of the enzyme PDE 5, blood doesn’t flow properly to the penis. Thus, an erection cannot be achieved. Suhagra inhibits the action of PDE 5 and relaxes the blood vessels, which allows adequate blood flow. This leads to the production of cGMP, which is responsible for the contraction and dilation of blood vessels. As more and more blood flows to the penis, pressure is created in the penis. This leads to a firm erection. However, this medication will not work in the absence of sexual arousal.

Uses of Suhagra 100mg

This medicine is prescribed for the treatment of the following conditions:

1. Erectile Dysfunction (ED) – an inability to achieve or maintain an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. 

Recommended Dosage

The recommended dose of Suhagra 100mg is one tablet per day. The time it takes for the medicine to show its effects varies from person to person. If you are taking it for the treatment of ED, take the pill 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual intercourse for best results.

Missed Dose

This medicine is taken as and when required. Therefore, you’re less likely to miss a dose. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses within 24 hours.

Overdose

An overdose of the drug can lead to serious side effects. In case of an overdose, seek medical help immediately or go to your nearest hospital.

Safety Advice

Suhagra 100mg may not be suitable for you if you suffer from certain medical conditions. Before you take this medicine, let your doctor know:

1. If you are allergic to the active ingredient Sildenafil Citrate.

10. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
11. If you have blood cell problems such as leukemia, sickle cell anemia, etc.
12. If you have a kidney disease or liver problems.
13. If you have a history of substance abuse. 
14. If you suffer from ischemic heart disease.
15. If you take another erectile dysfunction drug.

Side effects of Suhagra 100mg

Some side effects can occur while taking Suhagra 100mg tablet. Most of these side effects are temporary and usually disappear after some time. The most common side effects are:

Interaction with Alcohol

Interaction with Grapefruit Juice

Drinking grapefruit juice along with Suhagra 100mg (sildenafil citrate) can increase its plasma concentration and delay the time it takes for the medication to work.

Suhagra 100mg tablets should be stored safely in their original packaging.
