How Fildena 100mg Works

Fildena 100mg contains sildenafil citrate salt, which belongs to the class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It blocks the action of the enzyme PDE5 (which inhibits blood flow), encouraging blood circulation. 

When a person is sexually aroused, nitric oxide (NO) is released into the penis. NO stimulates cGMP production. cGMP relaxes smooth muscles, including vascular smooth muscles. This leads to a process called vasodilation. This is vital in achieving a hard erection. However, enzyme PDE5 breaks down cGMP, thereby interfering with this process. As a result, the erections are weak and/or short-lasting.

Sildenafil (the ED medication) blocks the action of PDE5 and raises the cGMP level. This encourages blood flow to the spongy muscle tissue in the penis. As a result, the penis becomes hard and erect, suitable for sexual intercourse. However, Fildena 100mg alone can’t give you an erection. You’ll need sexual stimulation for the erection to occur. The medication only supports the process.

Missed Dosage

Overdose

16. Aortic valve narrowing
    
17. Heart failure
    
18. Angina (chest pain)
    
19. Allergy from Sildenafil Citrate or any other medications.
    
20. A history of stroke, congestive heart failure, etc.
    
21. Suffer from conditions such as diabetes, high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc.
    
22. Take nitrates for chest pain.
    
23. Suffer from epilepsy or seizures.
    
24. Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
    
25. Suffer from ischemic heart disease (also known as coronary artery disease).
    
26. Are an alcoholic or have a history of substance abuse.

Sildenafil should only be taken under the supervision of a doctor. It should not be used by women or children.

Fildena Side effects

As with any other medication, side effects may occur while taking ED pills. Some common side effects of Fildena tablets include:

• Headaches

Drug Interactions

• Antifungals such as itraconazole

• Beta-blockers such as atenolol and metoprolol
• Bosentan
• Cimetidine
• Efavirenz
• HIV Protease inhibitors such as ritonavir and indinavir
• Medications for seizures, such as carbamazepine
• Rifabutin
• Rifampin
• Isoniazid
• Other ED medicine

Fildena contains sildenafil, the same active ingredient found in REVATIO. REVATIO is a medication prescribed for treating PAH. Therefore, do not use these tablets with

• REVATIO
• other PAH treatments containing sildenafil
• other PDE5 inhibitors like Vardenafil or Tadalafil.

Interaction with Alcohol

Interaction with Grapefruit juice

Taking Fildena with grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice is not advisable. Do not consume grapefruit at least 24 hours prior to taking this medicine. It may interfere with the intended level of metabolism.
