How Viagra 200mg Works

Viagra 200mg falls under the class of drugs known as PDE5 inhibitors. It contains sildenafil citrate, which blocks the enzyme that breaks down cGMP, allowing blood vessels in the penis to relax and increase blood flow. This helps maintain a firmer and longer-lasting erection during sexual arousal.

During sexual stimulation, the blood vessel lining in the penis releases nitric oxide (NO), which triggers the production of cGMP in the smooth muscle cells of the penis. cGMP prompts the smooth muscle cells to relax. This action widens the penis’ blood vessels. The relaxation of smooth muscle cells allows for improved blood flow into the spongy tissue of the penis. This tissue is called the corpus cavernosum. The increased blood flow fills the spongy tissue, leading to an erection.

It takes effect only when there’s enough sexual stimulation. This medication cannot work without sexual stimulation (e.g., physical intimacy).

Uses of Viagra 200mg Tablets

Sildenafil is primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It helps improve blood flow to the penis, allowing men to achieve and maintain an erection during sexual activity. It is taken when sexual stimulation is expected, as it works only in response to sexual arousal.

Dosage

Do not take it more than one tablet in 24 hours. Take it exactly as your doctor tells you to. You can take this pill with a light snack or an empty stomach. Taking the medication after a high-fat meal can delay its effectiveness. Take it 30 minutes to 1 hour before planned sexual activity. The effects of this medicine can last for around 4 to 6 hours.

Missed Dose

People with ED take Viagra 200mg tablets on an “on-demand” or “as-needed” basis. So, you are unlikely to miss a dose. However, if you are using it as a prescribed ED treatment on a regular basis, skip the missed dose. Then, continue with your dosing schedule as usual.

  1. Hisblue was awesome

  2. I was skeptical at first about Viagra 200 mg – only because I hadn’t tried it. But as soon as I received my package, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. And guess what? This is it! I can now gain control over my erections and feel satisfied after every sexual encounter.

  3. I haven’t been able to figure out why branded Viagra is so expensive when you can easily buy a generic one that works the same and costs so less. This one kicks in within an hour and the effects are really good. I feel pumped up and more confident in bed. I love it when I use lube along with it.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Ans. Viagra is a popular medication used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). It contains sildenafil citrate. It belongs to a class of medications called phosphodiesterase type 5 or PDE5 inhibitors. The medicine works by increasing blood flow to the penis when the person is sexually aroused, thereby making erections hard and suitable for sex.
Ans. This medication shouldn’t be taken more than once a day. Taking more than one tablet can increase the risk of side effects e.g., headaches, nausea, dizziness, flushing, etc.
Ans. Viagra is generally safe and effective for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Even so, 200 mg of sildenafil citrate is a strong medicine. Take the pill as directed by the doctor. The Viagra dosage your doctor prescribes will depend on many factors. It depends on other health problems you might have or the medicines you are taking. Discuss this with your doctor to determine the right Viagra dosage for you.
Ans. This drug usually works well to help with ED or "sexual impotence" in most men. It might not be working due to several reasons: 1. You have not taken the right dose based on your condition. 2. You have waited too long after taking the medicine (more than 4-6 hours) to have sex. 3. You have not received adequate sexual stimulation. 4. You have not waited at least 30-60 minutes to see the effects. 5. You may need additional treatments to manage the underlying health problem (e.g., diabetes). If Viagra does not work for you, talk to your doctor to adjust the dosage. They may switch the medicine or recommend additional therapies. Following a healthy lifestyle can help you get maximum beneficial effects.
Ans. Do not take 2 pills in 24 hours without consulting your doctor. You may have an overdose with severe side effects, e.g., severe headache, low blood pressure, and even fainting.
Ans. It depends on the severity of your condition. There's clinical evidence that sildenafil 200mg is effective in treating patients with severe ED. While some patients report unpleasant side effects with the 200 mg dose, others find it much more effective than 100 mg. However, for older men and first-time users, a lower dose would be better.
Ans. The effects of this medicine last for around 4 to 5 hours. You would typically see the effects within the first hour of taking the pill.
Ans. It's possible to have long-term side effects from treatment with any ED medication (e.g., PDE5 inhibitors). If you wish to use it for many months and years, do it under medical supervision to avoid lasting harmful effects.
Ans. No. This drug isn't known to significantly pass into men's semen. So, it is not going to have an effect on your partner.
Ans. No. Studies show that sildenafil (its ingredient) does not affect male fertility or sperm count.
Ans. People who have certain diseases, e.g., a serious heart problem, should not use this medicine. Also, if you are taking certain medications like nitrates, you shouldn't use it.
Ans. It is possible to take this medication on a regular or daily basis. But only when your doctor advises you to do so. Like any medication, it can lead to risks and side effects.
Ans. No. This medication cannot keep you hard after you climax and ejaculate. However, studies reveal that it can help you get another erection soon after orgasm. It reduces the "refractory period" the penis requires to become hard again.
Ans. Sildenafil citrate is generally safe for men with ED. If you have liver problems or kidney problems, talk to your doctor for guidance. Developing liver toxicity or kidney impairment is extremely rare with this ED medicine.
Ans. In the same way, it works in men, it may increase blood flow to the genital area of women. This may improve the desire for sexual intercourse. However, studies on its use in women have mixed results. So, if you are a woman, do not use this medicine.
