How Vilitra 60mg Tablet Works

Vilitra contains vardenafil, a PDE-5 inhibiting medication. It works by stopping the function of the PDE-5 enzyme. This enzyme may be responsible for impotence or ED. It prevents the cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) molecules, which help with erection. cGMP relaxes/dilates the blood vessels present in the corpus cavernosum. It encourages blood flow to the penis, which causes erection. This medication helps boost the action of cGMP, so you can get a strong erection. 

It is important to note that Vilitra cannot work alone. It will take effect only when the person is sexually aroused. Vilitra does not increase sexual desire or libido. It helps men get harder erections and regain confidence in the bedroom, but only when sexual stimulation is present.

Uses of Vilitra 60mg

Vilitra 60 mg is the highest dose of vardenafil. It’s suitable for men with severe ED or “impotence”. It increases blood flow to the penis to make erections harder. This results in successful sexual intercourse. If you have only mild erection problems, do not take this high-strength dose.

Vilitra 60mg Tablet Dosage

You should consult a physician before taking Vilitra 60mg to determine the right vardenafil dosage. One tablet is taken half an hour before sex. You can take it before or after eating food, but taking it without food is better. If you have mild ED, consider taking 5 mg or 10 mg doses first.

Taking this medicine more than 4 hours before you have sex can reduce its effects. It may not work for you if you wait too long. 

Missed Dosage

Vilitra is taken as needed before sex. So, you don’t typically have to worry about missing a dose. However, if you are taking it according to a prescription, take it at the same time every day. If you forget to take a dose, you should have it as soon as you remember. But skip the missed dose if your next regular dose is due very soon. Never take the 2 doses at once or within 24 hours.

Overdose 

Do not take more than 80 mg of vardenafil within 24 hours. It may lead to serious side effects, e.g., severe lower back pain, vomiting, extreme dizziness, and abnormal vision. Do not take more often or more than what’s prescribed to avoid an overdose.

Safety Advice

Alcohol : UNSAFE
It is unsafe to drink alcohol with Vilitra 60mg (vardenafil) Tablets.

Pregnancy : POSSIBLY UNSAFE
This medicine is not approved for use in women. It’s for male sexual health problems (impotence or ED). So, it is unlikely to be used during pregnancy.

Breastfeeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Sufficient information is not available about the use of Vilitra 60mg during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor.

Driving : UNSAFE
This drug can make you dizzy or affect your vision. Do not drive or use hazardous machinery until you are fully aware of its effects on you.

Kidney : CAUTION
Use caution if you have severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine. 

Liver:  CAUTION
This medication will be processed by your liver, so use caution if you have an existing liver problem. Consult your doctor for further advice. Your doctor will probably adjust the dosage for you. 

Other Precautions

Do not take Vilitra if you have certain health conditions, such as:

• If you’re allergic to vardenafil or any other ingredients
• If your cholesterol level is high
• If you’ve suffered from seizures in the past or if you’re epileptic
• If you have any prostate-related problem like benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
• If you suffer from eye-related problems like retinitis pigmentosa
• If you have suffered a heart stroke/ attack in the past or suffer from an ischemic heart condition
• If you have high or low blood pressure problem
• If you have any blood-related condition like blood cancer or sickle cell anemia
• If you suffer from Peyronie’s disease or other penis conditions
• If you have had priapism before (a painful erection that last for 4 or more hours)
• If you suffer from hepatic conditions
• If you’re below 18 years of age
• If you are a woman

Side Effects of Vilitra 60mg

Some common side effects of this medicine include:

• Nosebleed
• Flushing
• Headache
• Bloating
• Diarrhea
• Flu-like symptoms
• Runny or stuffy nose
• Nausea
• Heartburn

In rare cases, more severe symptoms can occur, such as:

• Confusion
• Priapism
• Vision changes, e.g., changes in color vision
• Difficulty in breathing
• Skin rashes
• Chest pain
• Sudden loss of hearing abilities
• Fainting

Call a doctor if a side effect bothers you or refuses to go away.

Interaction With Other Drugs

Some medications or substances do not work well together. Drug interactions can change the way a medication is supposed to work for your ED treatment. Before taking Vilitra (Vardenafil 60 mg), check with your doctor. Discuss all your current medications (prescribed or OTC), and herbal supplements. 

This medication can interact with: 

• Other PDE-5 inhibiting drugs such as Viagra (sildenafil), Cialis (tadalafil), etc
• Oral antifungals e.g., itraconazole or ketoconazole
• Alpha-blocker drugs (used for prostate-related problems), e.g., tamsulosin, alfuzosin, and doxazosin
• Beta-blockers like atenolol
• Diuretics (aka water pills) like bumetanide, ethacrynic acid, furosemide, etc.
• Nitrates (used for treating heart conditions), e.g., isosorbide and nitroglycerine
• Anti-seizure or anti-epileptic medicines like carbamazepine
• Calcium channel blockers, e.g., amlodipine, nimodipine, verapamil,  diltiazem, etc 
• HIV protease inhibitors such as ritonavir 
• Chemotherapy drugs, e.g., tyrosine kinase inhibitors
• Medicines used to treat autoimmune conditions
• Guanylate cyclase (GC) stimulator, e.g., riociguat

Interaction With Alcohol

Vilitra, when combined with alcohol, can quickly lower your blood pressure. It can make you dizzy and faint. It can be dangerous to drive or do any other task that requires full focus. So, you should avoid this combination.

Interaction with Grapefruit Juice

Grapefruit can interact with vardenafil. To get the full beneficial effect of Vilitra, avoid grapes or grape juice.

Storage Instructions

• Keep Vilitra 60mg tablets in their original packaging. 
• Store them in a cool and dry place. 
• Do not keep them in the bathroom. 
• Avoid keeping them in direct sunlight, as it can cause damage to the pills. 
• Dispose of the expired or discarded pills properly. 
• Keep them away from pets and kids.
