How Poxet 60 mg Works

Poxet contains the active ingredient dapoxetine. It is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat premature ejaculation. 

• Poxet works by increasing serotonin levels in the nervous system. 
• So, more serotonin is available to delay ejaculation by 5-7 minutes.
• This allows the person to control the time it takes to ejaculate and satisfy their partners. 
• Dapoxetine starts working quickly (1-3 hours). It is flushed out of your system after 12-24 hours. This is suitable for on-demand treatment for PE.

Premature Ejaculation (PE)

Dosage of Poxet 60mg Tablet

Missed Dosage

This medication is taken as an on-demand treatment or on an “as-needed” basis. So, the chances of missing a dose are very low.

Overdose

An overdose of this PE medication can lead to severe side effects. If you experience any harmful effects of the drug, contact your doctor right away.

Alcohol : UNSAFE
It is unsafe to drink alcohol with Poxet 60mg (dapoxetine) Tablets.

Pregnancy : POSSIBLY UNSAFE
This medicine is not approved for use in women. It’s for male sexual health problems (PE).

Breastfeeding : POSSIBLY UNSAFE

Driving : UNSAFE
This drug can make you dizzy or affect your vision. Do not drive or use hazardous machinery until you are fully aware of its effects.

Kidney : POSSIBLY SAFE
Dapoxetine is not known to impair kidney health. However, use caution if you have severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Liver: POSSIBLY SAFE
This medication will be processed by your liver. If your liver is working well, there shouldn’t be a concern. However, use caution if you have an existing liver problem. Consult your doctor for further advice. Your doctor will probably adjust the dosage for you.

Side Effects of Poxet 60mg

Common side effects of Poxet 60mg include:

• Nausea
• Dry mouth
• Headache
• Flushing in the skin 
• (sleep problems)
• Stomach upset
• Tiredness
• Dry mouth

This will usually go away once your body adjusts to the medicine. Contact your healthcare professional if you see any severe side effects such as:

• Increased blood pressure
• Low blood pressure
• High blood pressure
• Severe diarrhea
• Severe difficulty in sleeping or insomnia
• Mood disorders
• Erectile dysfunction

Poxet 60 mg Interactions with Other Drugs

Certain drugs are known to interact with Poxet 60 mg and affect the way it works. If you take any medications e.g., herbal, OTC, recreational drugs, or any other drugs to treat any health problems, let your doctor know about them. Here are a few medications that can interact with the Poxet tablets:

• Antibiotics such as clarithromycin and erythromycin
• Antifungals such as ketoconazole
• Antidepressants such as fluoxetine and paroxetine
• Anticoagulant warfarin increases the risk of bleeding
• Linezolid
• Monoamine Oxidase inhibitors such as phenelzine
• Blood thinners such as warfarin
• HIV treatments such as ritonavir
• Selegiline

Interaction with alcohol

Alcohol can increase the chances of experiencing side effects. Avoid consuming alcohol along with this medicine.

Storage Instructions

• Store Poxet 60 mg tablets safely and adequately in their original packaging.
• Keep the pills out of reach of children.
• Keep the pills away from direct heat, moisture, and sunlight.
• Once the pack is opened, store the pill in an airtight container.
