MTP Kit (Combipack of Mifepristone and Misoprostol)

(20 customer reviews)

MTP Kit is a complete abortion kit used for ending early pregnancy in women. It consists of two medications: Mifepristone and misoprostol. It is prescribed to women who are in their first trimester. This means the woman is no more than 9 weeks pregnant or in month 3 of their pregnancy. It comes in a combo pack with 1 mifepristone pill (200 mg) and 4 misoprostol pills, 200 mg each. Your doctor will advise you to use the pregnancy termination pills at proper intervals. These pills are given to you at the time of your visit to the clinic.

Mifepristone works by blocking the effects of progesterone. Misoprostol makes the uterine (womb) contract. This expels pregnancy tissue out of the body. A follow-up visit to the doctor’s clinic is required after two weeks. Or, the nurse may call you and ask you to take a pregnancy test at home.

How It Works

MTP Kit consists of two medicines: mifepristone and misoprostol. Mifepristone blocks the effects of progesterone. It’s a hormone that is needed for the pregnancy to continue. This drug causes the placenta to separate from the lining of the uterus.

Misoprostol softens the cervix and increases uterine contractions. As the muscles of the uterus get very tight and then relax, it helps pass the tissue out. The contents are usually blood clots at this stage. They pass through the vagina when the bleeding starts. So, bleeding after abortion pill ingestion is normal.

The Mifepristone and Misoprostol kit are an effective way to terminate early pregnancies. This is especially true for people who have regular periods and keep track of their periods. It helps when they are sure about when the last period took place. The time of treatment must be less than 10 weeks from the first day of their last period.

After taking the abortion pills, bleeding and cramping will occur. This may feel like a heavy menstrual period or worse. In most cases, the process may feel similar to a miscarriage.

MTP Kit is used to terminate a pregnancy that is not more than nine weeks. Your doctor will count from the first day of the last menstrual period to make sure this is the correct time.

Misoprostol and Mifepristone Usage

MTP Kit consists of one tablet of mifepristone and four tablets of misoprostol. Mifepristone is taken by mouth (orally) with water. Your doctor will likely advise you to take misoprostol tablets 24 to 48 hours after taking the mifepristone tablet.

Misoprostol can be used through the vagina. Or, it can be absorbed under the tongue (placed in the cheek pouch in the mouth).

Two misoprostol pills should be placed on one side of the mouth. The remaining pills are on the other side of the mouth. After 25-30 minutes, the person may swallow the medicine that remains in the mouth with water. Bleeding usually starts within the first 4 hours. A few sanitary pads should be handy as the bleeding will be heavier than usual.

For use through the vagina, the four tablets are inserted one by one inside the vagina. If the pills fall out before the bleeding starts, they need to be inserted again.

The person will need to make a follow-up visit to the doctor’s clinic two weeks after abortion.

Dosage

Missed Dosage: The abortion pills are taken as prescribed by the doctor. Hence, the chances of missing a dose are not likely.

Overdose: The Mifepristone and Misoprostol kit is typically taken in the presence of a doctor. Sometimes a doctor may advise you to take the abortion tablets at home. If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor without delay.

  1. It was a relatively easy experience. The process, from ordering until the order delivery is pretty seamless. I recommend hisblue.

  2. Thank you and your team so much for providing this option!!! I highly recommend using Hisblue should you ever need a medical abortion. I appreciate the phone call to answer questions, the follow up phone call/text regarding questions and the discreet packaging. Never knew it would be this easy and in the privacy of my home. Where I live, the clinic is surrounded by protestors and they yell at whoever is walking from their cars to enter the building without even knowing who, what, why. Thank you SO MUCH for allowing this to be an option.

  3. Thank you for taking care of me, Hisblue! I cannot thank you guys enough for relieving my mind and getting me off at ease. I was so worried about this pregnancy and you guys took care of everything. Really appreciate the help that was provided to me by one of your agents Joseph. Will surely recommend your services to others.

  4. Quick delivery! Can give more information after experiencing effectiveness.

  5. The people on the telephone were nice, friendly and happy to explain the delivery time and other information. It was an uncommon experience for me, being called on the phone to confirm the order. I prefer email confirmation. The package took a longer amount of time, because it came from India I think, and maybe the customs process is slow. It did get here in discreet packaging, and I am grateful for that. The tracking number didn’t work, so I couldn’t track the package with the information provided to me. I asked customer service for help, and they helped me in a very friendly manner. In summary, the process was a success. It was delivered successfully. Good job.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Research shows that most women can self-manage an abortion with abortion pills (mifepristone and misoprostol). MTP Kit is a safe and effective medical abortion option used for the termination of pregnancy that is less than 10 weeks. This method is clinically proven to terminate pregnancy for up to 63 days.
MTP Kit has an efficacy rate of up to 98.8% when taken within the first 6 weeks (or 42 days). The efficacy rate is about 95.5% when taken between 7 and 9 weeks of pregnancy. Users in their first trimester can use the MTP abortion pill kit, but it's essential to speak to a doctor if you have any other health problems or are taking medications that may interfere with the abortion.
In most cases, the pregnancy tissue is usually expelled within 4 to 6 hours. Cramping and bleeding typically slow down after the expulsion of the pregnancy tissue. A follow-up visit to your healthcare provider is recommended after two weeks.
The MTP Kit (abortion pill) is generally safe for pregnancies less than 9 weeks old, but it may not be suitable if you have certain conditions, such as: - Ectopic pregnancy - Chronic adrenal or liver failure - HIV (may require antibiotics to reduce infection risks) - STI (requires treatment before using the kit) - An IUD device implanted (must be removed before taking the abortion pill) - Porphyria (a blood disorder that affects oxygen transport)
After taking abortion pills, you will experience symptoms similar to a miscarriage. A follow-up appointment is crucial to ensure that the abortion is complete. Your healthcare provider may perform a quick exam, blood test, or ultrasound.
After an abortion, it's important to: - Rest for a day or two. - Avoid strenuous exercise for the first week. - Refrain from inserting anything into the vagina for 2-3 weeks (tampons, sex toys, etc.). - Avoid stimulating the nipples to reduce breast discharge. Most symptoms usually subside after 24 hours.
Signs of possible complications include: - Fever above 101°F lasting more than 24 hours. - Heavy bleeding (soaking two or more pads in an hour for 2 consecutive hours). - Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea lasting more than 24 hours. - Foul-smelling vaginal discharge. - Severe pain or cramping that won't subside even with medication. - Continued pregnancy symptoms after 2 to 4 weeks. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
No, they refer to the same treatment. The abortion pill is also known as medical abortion, medication abortion, or medicated abortion. It's among the safest early abortion methods. [/accordion-item
