How It Works

Viagra 100 mg is a PDE 5 inhibitor. It blocks the action of the enzyme PDE 5 and relaxes the muscles present in the walls of the blood vessels. When there is sexual stimulation, cGMP enzyme is released in the body that helps men get and sustain an erection. Sildenafil Citrate, the key ingredient in Viagra 100 mg helps the effects of the cGMP enzyme last longer in men. It blocks the action of PDE 5 and does not let cGMP be destroyed. This allows the blood to flow easily to the penis. As cGMP is produced, more and more blood flows to the penis. As a result, pressure is created in the penis that leads to an erection.

Uses

Viagra 100 mg is prescribed for the treatment of the following problems:

1. Erectile Dysfunction (ED) – an inability to achieve or maintain an erection making it difficult to have sexual intercourse.
2. Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) – high blood pressure levels in the arteries connecting the heart and the lungs.

Dosage

A single tablet of Viagra 100 mg is recommended to be taken once per day. It can be taken with or without food. It is usually recommended to take the pill approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual intercourse. Do not consume more than one pill in 24 hours.

Missed Dose: An on-demand dosing schedule is generally followed. This means that this medicine is taken as and when needed. Therefore, you are less likely to miss a dose. However, if you take this medicine for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH), take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it’s time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose: An overdose of the drug can deteriorate your health and lead to various side effects. If you experience any side effects for long, contact your doctor immediately.

Before you take Viagra 100 mg, tell your doctor:

1. If you are allergic to Viagra or any other medications.
